The Anatolian Maral Stag  was protected by Wildlife Department of Turkey since 1930’s.But the hunt started in 2004-2005 saeson and permitted to hunt some limetted areas in North and west of Turkey.Cause of this protection the hunters have the chance to get a record trophy around 15 kg and an adult male weigthed 350 kg..it means , cause of it was not hunted fors o many years the trophy quality is very high.Hunt for Maral Stag done by  the traditional way of stalking and roaring with a special horn by a Professional guide.
